MoDOT and its contractor Walsh Construction will have lane closures on westbound Interstate 70 July 31 and August 1 at the Blanchette Missouri River Bridge and at Fifth Street in St. Charles.
On Wednesday, July 31, one lane of westbound I-70 will be closed on the Blanchette Missouri River Bridge from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
On Thursday, August 1, two lanes of westbound I-70 will be closed just west of the river bridge at Fifth Street from 10 p.m. until midnight. Then, from midnight to 5 a.m., there will be one lane closed and the ramp to southbound Fifth Street will also be closed.
Motorists are advised to slow down in the work zone and obey the posted 45 mph speed limit. The interstate currently only has three lanes available for traffic. With these additional lane closures, it reduces the interstate to just one or two lanes open.
