MoDOT and its contractor Walsh Construction will close one lane on westbound Interstate 70 at Fifth Street overnight Wednesday, June 26 and Friday, June 28 for work on the bridge over Fifth Street. Dates are weather depending and may move a day in case of rain.
The lane closure will begin at 10 p.m. Wednesday, June 26 until 6 a.m. Thursday, June 27 for bridge repair work. The westbound I-70 bridge over Fifth Street is being rehabilitated and resurfaced as part of the westbound I-70 Blanchette Missouri River Bridge project. Only two lanes will be open on I-70 overnight Wednesday night.
On Friday night, June 28, only one lane will be open westbound I-70 at Fifth Street. One lane will close at 8 p.m. and the second lane will close at 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Saturday, June 29. Crews will be restriping the three lanes of westbound I-70 and moving barrier wall overnight.
By Saturday, June 29, the ramp from westbound I-70 to southbound Fifth Street will reopen to traffic and three lanes of westbound I-70 will also reopen to traffic. The ramp to southbound Fifth Street closed June 17.
