MoDOT and its contractor Walsh Construction will have multiple lanes closed in both directions and some ramp closures the next week on Interstate 70 at the Blanchette Missouri River Bridge. Crews are working to get both the eastbound and westbound bridges back to five lanes in each direction by Monday, August 26, weather permitting. Until August 26, there continues to be only three lanes open in each direction during the day. Motorists should continue to use Route 370 and Route 364 as alternate routes.
On Monday, August 19 and Tuesday, August 20, one lane will be closed eastbound I-70 at the bridge from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Additional lane closures will continue Wednesday and Thursday nights this week, but the exact details are not yet available. During the weekend of August 23-25, more lane closures are expected for the weekend and more details will be available later this week. Crews will be completing the re-striping of eastbound I-70 from Route 94 to the St. Louis County end of the Blanchette Bridge as well as rebuilding the barrier wall between eastbound and westbound I-70.
All work is weather permitting and the days may change due to rain. Motorists are advised to slow down in the work zone and obey the posted 45 mph speed limit. Motorists are advised to avoid I-70 and use Route 370 or Route 364 as alternates to traveling in this area.
