The three-day event celebrates Irish music, dance, history and culture and promises fun for the whole family.

Admission is free to everyone. Llywelyn's Pub is introducing the VIP Snug area this year with VIP tickets on sale at Llywelyn's will offer their exciting menu in the new VIP area with complimentary drinks and souvenir Irish Fest Pint glasses.

This year's headliners include The Elders and Chicago Reel performing on the Sun Drop stage. The Elders is a six-piece Irish American folk rock band fronted by Ian Byrne, a native of Ireland's County Wicklow. Byrne along with Steve Phillips (formerly of The Rainmakers) are veteran musicians who have played in numerous recording and touring bands before forming The Elders. The band has released six studio albums, three live albums and one compilation album.

Other performances include Red Headed Strangers, Rusty Nail and singer Ashley Davis along with a number of other local Irish musicians, dancers and entertainers on both the Sun Drop and Guinness stages throughout the weekend.

The festival will also features a children's area sponsored by the Clarkson School of Irish Dance. Saturday features a visit with Fred Bird as well as a tea party, the Shamrock Smack, which is an Irish Pinata, along with Irish Cottages and crafts all weekend long.

The Athlete's Area will feature Scottish and Celtic games throughout the weekend. Guests can try their hand at "tossing the caber" and other exciting activities. The Irish Cottage area will include the play, The Predicament at 1 PM on both Saturday and Sunday.

The hours are: Friday, 6 pm to 10:30 pm, Saturday, 10 am to 10:30 pm, and Sunday 10:00 to 5:00 pm. There will also be a special Mass Sunday at 8:30 am.

About the Missouri River Irish Festival

The festival is the main fundraiser to support the Irish Chapter of the St. Charles Sister Cities Programs, Inc. The St. Charles Sister Cities Irish Chapter was created in 2005 to advance the study and appreciation of Irish culture, music, and dance. St. Charles Sister City is Carndonagh, located in County Donegal, Ireland.
