Katy Trail

With its picturesque surroundings, the active and adventurous types can hit the scenic Katy Trail, where a 240-mile-long crushed limestone path weaves its way through Missouri. As the country’s longest continuous recreational rail trail, it’s the perfect hangout for outdoor enthusiasts.

Hiking, Biking, & Kayaking

Beyond Katy Trail, the region is home to many other trails for hiking and biking that include shorter stretches, like the 3.8-mile-long Boschert Greenway, or longer paths like the famous 8.2-mile-long Lewis and Clark Trail, revered among locals as the most scenic hike in metro St. Louis. For anyone eager to break a sweat biking in St. Charles, our bike trails offer options suitable for all levels of cyclists.

Kayakers can enjoy nature on the Dardenne Creek Blueway. This scenic, 8.7-mile long waterway begins at Lone Wolff Park, connects to 370 Lakeside Park, and ends at Riverside Landing where the Dardenne Creek and the Mississippi River connect. The blueway is closely linked to amenities and activities at surrounding parks.

Camping & Fishing

If you’re looking for a more relaxing experience, visitors can also camp out and stargaze at one of several campsites. Fishing enthusiasts can find the catch of the day at local parks or on the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers, which are accessible for fishing via boat launches throughout St. Charles.

Golfing

Are you an avid golfer or hoping to practice your swing? Look no further than the many pristine golf courses that the St. Charles area has to offer. With some of the best golf courses in the country, golfers can hit the manicured greens of Missouri Bluffs Golf Club, or hone their technique at the virtual golf experience housed in The Clubhouse, home to two golf simulators.

Bring the whole family to Kokomo Joe’s where you can make memories and embrace your competitive side with a game of laser tag, bumper cars, or playing at the arcade. While you’re there, get the kiddos’ energy out at the trampoline park.

For beginner and pro pickleball players, Chicken N Pickle at the Streets of St. Charles has indoor and outdoor pickleball courts so that you can play year-round. For an extra challenge, visit an escape room to test your teamwork and puzzle-solving skills.
