Being a mom is a full-time job that requires dedication around the clock, every day of the year. Thank the moms in your life for all of their hard work this Mother’s Day with a trip to St. Charles. Check out the list below for suggestions on how to create a fun, memorable day that she’ll cherish.

La Belle Vie Inside

Take her out to Brunch

Leave the cooking (and the cleaning) to someone else this Mother’s Day and take your mom out to brunch. Enjoy views of Historic Main Street on the patios of cafes and restaurants that line the brick-paved road. Bella Vino Wine Bar & Tapas is offering a special Mother’s Day brunch menu from 10:30 AM to 3 PM and The Wine Café is hosting a Mother’s Day brunch with live music, food specials, and bottomless mimosas during two time slots: 10 AM to noon and 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. On May 10th and 11th at the Streets of St. Charles, Tucanos Brazilian Grill is offering a special Mother’s Day lunch and dinner with specials including prime rib and grilled shrimp. As a bonus, each mom will receive a carnation after dinner! It’s recommended to make your reservations sooner rather than later. Satisfy your sweet tooth afterwards with a sweet treat from one of the many bakeries and ice cream shops in town.

Two Simple Sisters Shop

Shop ‘til you Drop

It’s hard to say no to some retail therapy. Treat your mom to a shopping trip on Main Street St. Charles and the Streets of St. Charles. She’ll love browsing through trendy boutiques, trying on cute jewelry, and finding the perfect décor for her home all in one place. And for the plant moms out there, don’t forget to stop by The Potted Plant and pick out a new addition to the collection!

Main Street in Bloom

Attend Main Street in Bloom

Celebrate the arrival of spring with mom at Main Street in Bloom on May 4th and 5th. Storefronts will be adorned with floral displays as visitors enjoy live music, performances, activities, a parade, and a Maypole dance on Historic Main Street. Hosted by the small business owners of Main Street, this event is the perfect opportunity to snap some spring photos, get some shopping done, and enjoy family fun.

Sunset at Chandler Hill

Sip on Wine in Historic Missouri Wine Country

Eight stunning wineries dot the rolling hills of Historic Missouri Wine Country. Enjoy views of the peaceful Missouri countryside and treat your mom to a glass (or two, she deserves it!) of award-winning, local wine. The quaint towns of Augusta and Defiance nearby have many hidden gems to explore. Wineries such as Chandler Hill Vineyards and Defiance Ridge Vineyards are hosting Mother’s Day brunches, but they are currently full. Check their websites in case they add more time slots and keep them in mind for brunch plans next year. Popular upscale boutique restaurant, Root Food + Wine in Augusta offers a special 3 course Mother’s Day Brunch at 10 AM and 2 PM on May 12th. Chef Philip Day, a James Beard Foundation semifinalist for the Best Chef: Midwest award, focuses on using locally sourced food in this restaurant located in a home built in 1905. Reservations are suggested.

Relax at a Spa Day

Give your mom a well-deserved break with a spa day. Pamper her with VIP treatment as the weight of the world is taken off of her shoulders with a deep muscle massage at Ara Spa at the Ameristar Casino. This 7,000 square foot spa space features a hyrdro-pool, sauna, steam room, and more to elevate her spa experience. Or, give her the gift of relaxing in an ayurvedic holistic spa at Birch Botanical Spa. Using organic, wild crafted, and sustainably harvested ingredients, they provide relaxing facials, energy healing sessions, massages, and more to help mom get some R&R. Let her truly unwind and soak up the good vibes at St. Charles’ award-winning spas.

Farmer's Market

Visit the Flea Market and Farmer’s Market

Celebrate Mother’s Day a day early this year on May 11th at the St. Charles Flea Market and the St. Charles Riverwalk Market. They’re just a short walk away from each other, so it’s easy to get to both in the same day. You and your mom can shop for locally made décor, t-shirts, and fresh grown produce grown on farms in the area all in one trip.
