Take a "spirited" journey through Halloween history at Legends & Lanterns®. This festival features an array of memorable character interactions, historical exhibits, and frightfully fun experiences. From Lizzie Bordon and the Big Bad Wolf to the Queen of Hearts and Medusa, guests can meet a host of infamous villains, spell casters, and scallywags of literature and folklore as they descend upon St. Charles this fall. 2. EXPLORE THE 240-MILE-LONG KATY TRAIL
The KATY Trail runs just one block east of Main Street St. Charles, out through Historic Missouri Wine Country, and all the way to the town of Clinton on the western side of the state. Take a quick - or long - hike or bike ride on this crushed limestone path. Two historic train cars sit beside the trail in St. Charles, paying homage to the trail's past as a corridor of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad. The KATY Depot, built in 1893, also sits along the trail in Frontier Park. Bring your own bike, or rent one from Bike Stop Cafe (after a cup of coffee and a bite to eat, of course). The cafe even has a KATY Trail shuttle, so you don't have to bike all the way back to town if you go out too far.
3. STEP INTO A CLASSIC HALLMARK® CHRISTMAS MOVIE AT SAINT CHARLES CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS®
Named one of the Merriest Main Streets in America by The TODAY Show®, Christmas in St. Charles certainly is next level (just ask TODAY Show host, Hoda Kotb!) Meet global gift givers, fantasy characters like Jack Frost and Susie Snowflake, and storybook characters like Ebenezer Scrooge and the Nutcracker Prince at this festive event. Christmas Traditions® begins the day after Thanksgiving and occurs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and during the day on Christmas Eve.
